Description: “Whisper of the Depths” is a series of oil paintings exploring the most important matters of life and death. The collection is heavily informed by the artist’s unique life journey through times of oppression and grief and how taking refuge in one’s body and connecting with nature can promote healing. Asal Andarzipour intends to remind the audience of humans' individual and universal paths. She uses hues of red to represent blood, the liquid that is a vehicle of life, fertility, violence and death. Finding comfort in Jungian interpretations of symbols and dreams, and observing the interplay of psyche-body has led to reappearing symbols in this body of work.
