The Alberta Foundation for the Arts was established in 1991 as a crown agency of the Government of Alberta, with a mandate to support and contribute to the development of the arts in Alberta. We provide grant funding to artists and art organizations to encourage the growth and development of the arts sector. We also promote the arts, and manage an extensive provincial art collection featuring work from artists all over the province.
About the AFA
At the Alberta Foundation for the Arts we see an Alberta where a vibrant arts community inspires creativity and innovation, embraced by all Albertans.
The AFA Board of Directors is appointed by the Government of Alberta and is comprised of arts champions from across the province.
The AFA Annual Report provides information on the our yearly operations. Information includes annual accomplishments, a summary of grants awarded, financial statements and the AFA Board’s membership and responsibilities.
In return for funding support, we ask that all grant recipients acknowledge and include the AFA logo in their recognition/marketing materials. Funding accreditation is requirement for all recipients.
