ASA presents the solo exhibition “Rupture(d): Constructing a Point of View in the Expanded Narrative” by Don Sucha

DATE :

DEADLINE: October 24, 2026 - 4:00 pm

The Alberta Society of Artists is pleased to present the solo exhibition “Rupture(d): Constructing a Point of View in the Expanded Narrative” featuring the 360° photographic works of Alberta artist Don Sucha.

The exhibition runs from September 5 to October 24, 2026 at the ASA Art Gallery, #222 - 1235 26 Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta.  Gallery hours are Wednesday – Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm and parking is free.

A reception with an artist talk will be held at the gallery on Thursday, October 10, 2026, at 1 pm.

“Photographs are often narratives, and panoramic photographs expand this narrative because of the amount of information panoramas contain. The photographs in Rupture(d) are 360-degree panoramas presented in the “Little Planet” projection which flattens the spherical image into a two-dimensional plane while maintaining (most) of the total information, and giving the photographer the ability to change the point of view presented to the beholder. The exhibition consists of 10 framed works that represent three thematic genres: Narratives, Portraits, and Mandalas. The photographs are not separated by genre, however, but are apparent through title or, simply, what is obvious to the viewer.”
