Kappella Kyrie Slavic Chamber Choir of Edmonton presents Among Women, a choral concert celebrating women in music. The program will highlight women as composers, poets, and inspirations, and feature works by Ukrainian female composers, contemporary Canadian and American composers, alongside Beethoven and even Billy Joel.
The Gerda Hnatyshyn Launch Grants provide assistance to the most promising Canadian performing artists in the years immediately following their education or training in the performing arts (or equivalent experience, for Contemporary Music). One grant of $10,000 is awarded annually in each of the following disciplines: Classical Music (instrumental or vocal), Contemporary Music (instrumental or vocal), Contemporary Dance (performance or choreography), English Theatre, and French Theatre (performance or production).
