On September 26 and 27, 2026 you can experience free, family-friendly arts and culture activities, such as theatre school games and exercises, building tours taking you backstage and behind-the-scenes, artist talks, and film screenings in Zeidler Hall. Come explore, create, and celebrate with us.
Strathearn Art Walk
All day | Lee Pavilion
The Strathearn Art Walk Outdoor Gallery has been held over at the Citadel Theatre! We’re thrilled to partner with the Strathearn Art Walk to showcase the incredible talent of local artists. This vibrant display invites Citadel audiences to discover even more creativity as they explore the Lee Pavilion garden.

Theatre School Fun Zone
September 26, 2026 at 10:30 am to 12 pm | Tucker Amphitheatre
Join instructors from the Foote Theatre School for drop-in theatre activities for the whole family from 10:30am – 12:00pm in the Tucker Amphitheatre. Featuring interactive story time, fun drama games, and a good old fashioned dance party! We encourage families to bring their imaginations and come play together. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note: The stage area of the Tucker Amphitheatre is not wheelchair accessible or other mobility devices.
Backstage Tours
September 26 & 27, 2026: 11 to 11:45 am and 2 to 2:45 pm

Peek behind the curtain in this guided tour of the Citadel’s Maclab Theatre, including the newly renovated Greenroom, and possibly even a chance to step on the stage! Explore the Wardrobe Department featuring hundreds of costumes pieces that have appeared on Citadel stages, tour the backstage hallways where countless artists and crew have walked, and finish your experience in the Lee Pavilion and Tucker Amphitheatre.
For ages 12 and up.
Please note: The backstage areas involve several flights of stairs and are not accessible by wheelchair or other mobility devices. Please ensure you arrive at the check-in table by Box Office at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
Pre-Show Chat
Join us in the Shoctor Lobby before the ticketed matinee performances of Murder on the Orient Express on Saturday and Sunday this weekend to get a behind-the-scenes look at how a live theatre show comes together! Pre-show chats are free to attend and open to the public. Seating is limited in the Shoctor Lobby, so arrive early!

Join Citadel’s Associate Artistic Director Mieko Ouchi and Vertigo Theatre’s award-winning Artistic Director, Jack Grinhaus, to take a fascinating look into the phenomenon of mystery theatre. Find out what makes this genre of theatre so popular, get a glimpse into some real-life specialists who have brought scientific and procedural knowledge to these stories, and how as a director you keep the clues dropping, the suspense alive, and audiences guessing to the very last second.

To celebrate our upcoming production of Our Little Secret: A True New Musical, directed by Adam Pascal (the incredible Broadway star of Rent), playing this October, we are hosting film screenings on Saturday and Sunday featuring Adam Pascal! Screenings take place in Zeidler Hall with general admission seating, so come early to grab a snack at concession and a great spot. Film run times and age ratings are listed below.
