Alberta Council for the Ukrainian is a non-profit Ukrainian arts organization with a Gallery and Boutique based in Edmonton.

It is the mandate of ACUA to facilitate and encourage greater appreciation and awareness of the Ukrainian arts and their cultural significance to the greater Alberta community.  Through exhibitions, tours, festivals, educational programs, workshops, and special projects, ACUA promotes growth and provides support to the Ukrainian arts and artists living in Alberta.

We’re looking for an organized, proactive, and communicative Program Coordinator who can work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and play a hands-on role in delivering engaging community arts programming. You must be flexible as weekend and evening work will be required. You should also have access to a vehicle to get to and from offsite events and be able to transport equipment and supplies in your vehicle for offsite events.

Here is what an ACUA Program Coordinator would do. This list will evolve and develop based on your skills, ideas, and coordinating acumen.

– Take the lead in the planning, coordination, and delivery of ACUA’s community arts programs, workshops, and events.

– Support the Program Manager in ensuring high-quality execution of ACUA initiatives, including workshops, lectures, book launches, and one-off programs.

– Act as content coordinator for ACUA Vitae magazine

– Assist in planning and coordinating Kava Club and Home Is Where the Art Is events.

– Provide excellent customer service, including answering phones, supporting gallery operations, and assisting visitors.

– Coordinate and support volunteer engagement, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and recognition activities.

– Support communications, marketing, and promotional initiatives, including content creation for digital platforms and printed materials.

– Assist with membership administration and engagement, ensuring smooth onboarding and support for members.

– Represent ACUA at offsite events, markets, and pop-ups, supporting program delivery and organizational visibility.
