Adult Recreational Choirs Calgary (ARC) is seeking a reliable, capable, and collaborative Part-Time Production Manager to support two major productions this season:
● ARC Spotlight (Talent Night) – March
● All Mystery & Magic – June, Grand Theatre
This position reports to the Artistic Director and works closely with the Artistic Team, Operations staff, and a dedicated group of production volunteers.

The Role at a Glance
The Production Manager is the organizational and people anchor of ARC’s production process—helping translate creative vision into a clear, well-run show environment. Aside from a requisite amount of technical and show expertise, the job is about leading, guiding, coordinating, and supporting others.
Key Responsibilities (Summary)
1. Production Coordination & Planning
● Support production planning for ARC Spotlight and All Mystery & Magic
● Maintain a clear production timeline and communicate key needs and deadlines
● Coordinate logistics related to venue requirements, rentals, and technical needs
● Support budget awareness by sourcing quotes and flagging production costs as needed Last
2. Volunteer & Team Leadership
● Lead and support production volunteers (props, costuming, backstage, logistics)
● Ensure volunteers understand their roles, feel prepared, and are supported
● Act as a steady point of contact between volunteers, venue staff, and artistic leadership
3. Rehearsals & Show Execution
● Attend key rehearsals to track production needs and adjust plans accordingly
● Coordination with the professional lighting and sound technicians on lighting and sound cues
● Calling cues during the show
● Oversee backstage organization, safety, and show flow - with our Assistant Stage Manager
● Lead onsite production during events (setup, performance, and teardown)
● Troubleshoot calmly and collaboratively during live events
4. Communication & Collaboration
● Work closely with the Artistic Director and Artistic Team to support creative vision
● Communicate clearly with venue staff and production partners
● Ensure safety, clarity, and respect are upheld for performers, volunteers, and audiences
Time Commitment
This is a part-time, contract-based role with variable hours, increasing around event periods. Most work occurs during evenings and weekends, particularly leading up to and during performances.
Key Dates Include:
● ARC Spotlight – March Last Updated: February 2026
● All Mystery & Magic (Grand Theatre) – June
● Tech rehearsals and show weekend commitments as scheduled
Compensation rate
● A salary of $3,000 total for March-June ($~750 monthly)
What We’re Looking For
● Strong organizational and communication skills
● Comfort leading volunteers and working as part of a collaborative team
● Ability to stay flexible and grounded in a live-performance environment
● Experience in theatre, live events, or performing arts production is an asset
● Experience with volunteer-based organizations is an asset
