Call to Artists!

Viewpoint Gallery offers local artists and curators of  all backgrounds the chance to exhibit original work. Run by City of Red Deer and located at 5205 48 Avenue in downtown Red Deer, it features 875 sq. ft.  of exhibit space and 80 linear feet for hanging, with solo and group shows running 2–3 months. Proposals are adjudicated by community and City art experts. The gallery offers visitors opportunities to engage with artists and their work through monthly First Friday receptions and Artist Talks.

Our instructors teach a variety of group programs at various Recreation Centres in the City including the City Arts Centre. Visual Arts Summer Instructor I/II

This posting is for up to four positions including both Visual Arts Instructor I and Visual Arts Instructor II.

We are seeking:

  • 1 Visual Arts Instructor I at Gallery@501
  • 2 Visual Arts Instructor I’s at Smeltzer House Visual Arts Centre
  • 1 Visual Arts Instructor II at Smeltzer House Visual Arts Centre


These are seasonal positions starting mid-June with an expected end date of August 28, 2026.

ArtBus 2026

Hop on the Artbus and discover the creative side of downtown! ArtBus is a free, all-ages, one-day event that takes riders across downtown Edmonton to galleries and artist-run centres via special ETS buses. On Saturday, March 21st, hop on at any designated Art Stop across downtown Edmonton to experience art, get creative with hands-on activities, and shop local. These free ArtBuses will run in a continuous loop between 9 participating galleries for an easy way to connect people and art downtown.
