The Strathcona County Art Collection Advisory Committee invites artists to submit their artwork for consideration to be purchased.
New for 2025! The program has expanded eligibility:
-residents of Strathcona County
-artists who identify as an equity deserving group residing within Treaty 6*
-artists who have significant connections to the County
-artists who have been part of a juried art exhibition or public art project with Strathcona County
Community-Engaged Public Art
Accepting applications until March 31, 2025
Strathcona County is excited to launch the Community-Engaged Art Program in 2025, a new initiative designed to connect artists with the community through creative processes that highlight the values of community, diversity, inclusion, and wellness. This program invites artists to propose temporary public art projects that will engage the public in meaningful ways and contribute to the cultural vibrancy of shared public spaces.

A free opportunity for young emerging artists to learn how to use critiques and juried shows to strengthen their portfolio and exhibitions. What are jurors looking for? How do you use that experience going forward. What can you learn from a critique?
The Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre would like to invite you for a special Artist Talk and to view the work created by our February Artist-in-Residence, Rhys Douglas Farrell.
The event takes place at the Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre on Sunday, February 23rd. Doors will open at 2:00pm with light snacks and drinks provided by KOAC. His talk will take place at 2:30pm, and there will be time to view his work until the conclusion of the reception at 4:00pm.
We are looking for an energetic, flexible, adaptable, and organized person who can successfully navigate diverse responsibilities of our Guest Services and Gallery Shop Assistant within our unique organization.
The successful candidate should have a background in retail environments and customer service. As well, an interest in museum studies, art history, and/or fine art are definitely considered assets. The Centre is located in a rural location, so a reliable vehicle is required.
Part Time Seasonal Position:
The works in this exhibition find their origins in Leila Armstrong’s interest in the nature/cultural divide.
What is nature if not folk tales, Disney wildlife documentaries, and zoos? Subsequently, her understanding of nature matured.

Join Alberta Craft for the opening reception of Kate Ritchie’s Repetition in Rebuilding.
Stop by the Art Gallery of St. Albert to experience The Garden, a magical exhibition created by Edmonton’s Elsa Robinson.
Elsa will be at the Gallery on Thursday and Saturdays from 1-4 pm throughout the show. She is eager to chat with visitors and create art together.
