Celebrate the world of drums and percussion with this double bill! An unforgettable combination of music that will place percussion in the spotlight to show the sonic capabilities of these instruments. Jonathan McCaslin will present an expressive solo drumming set through composed and improvised works influenced by his vast experience in the worlds of jazz and collaborative performance while the Rod and Abbas Duo bring a personalized approach to North Indian raga music, combining the vast experience of Zaheer-Abbas Janmohamed’s tabla playing with the insights and technique of ethnomusicologist and multi-instrumentalist Rod Squance, playing a marimba he created and constructed specifically for this project.
