DATE :
DEADLINE: February 12, 2026 - 3:00 pm
Research Study Details:
Study Title: What’s Missing in Dance Training? Aligning Mental Health Education with the Needs of Dancers and Educators
Purpose: The goal of this study is to better understand both dancers’ and teachers’ perspectives so we can inform future resources, teacher training, and supports for dancer well-being.
Who Can Participate?
- Current adolescent dancers in competitive/examination training settings (ages 13–17)
- Anyone 18+ with at least 1 year of experience in dance in a competitive/examination setting
- Dance educators who teach adolescent dancers in competitive/examination training settings (age 18+)
What Does Participation Look Like?
- A one-time, 15–20-minute online survey (option to enter to win $25)
- Optional follow-up Zoom interview for those interested in sharing more in-depth insights (60-90 minutes)
- For youth participants (ages 13-17), an online parental consent form must be completed before accessing the survey (shared directly to parent/guardian via email)
Why Does This Research Matter?
- Because dancer well-being matters. We want to ensure dancers’ mental health is valued as much as their physical training. By sharing your perspective, you’ll help guide better resources and supports for dancers and educators.
