Applications open for Alberta's Artist in Residence and Arts Ambassador

Alberta's Artist in Residence and Arts Ambassador program inspires innovation in the arts and promotes a wider understanding and appreciation of the arts and artists in Alberta.

Through this program, an Albertan artist receives a grant of up to $50,000 to serve a one-year term and create an art project that promotes the value of the arts in Alberta. During the term, the artist will engage with different communities, share their perspectives and an 'inside look' of their artistic process, and attend important cultural events as Alberta's arts ambassador.

Applications are now open for any artist that is a resident of Alberta. Completed applications must be received by 11:59 pm MST on June 15, 2026.

This annual opportunity is open to artists from any artistic discipline(s) including, but may not be limited to:

• dance
• film and video
• Indigenous arts
• literary arts
• music
• theatre
• visual arts and new media
