The Writers’ Guild of Alberta Annual 2025 Spring Conference will explore major influences on genre and form through time. We will look at how writers continue to be inspired and influenced by those before them, and how we shape the landscape for those who come after us. Workshops, masterclasses, and panels will also delve into the business of writing and how to strengthen craft skills.

The Unleash WIP Award offers writers support in the amount of $500 to supplement costs to support the completion of a book-length work of fiction, nonfiction or poetry. Writers will receive editorial feedback, coaching meetings, and an excerpt/interview feature in Unleash Lit.

The Calgary One-Act Play Festival is celebrating 40 years at the Pumphouse Theatre!
The Pumphouse Theatre and Alberta Drama Festival Association are back again for the 40th Annual Calgary Region One-Act Play Festival. Over three nights, from April 3 to April 5, we are thrilled to be presenting nine one-act plays from a diverse array of local artists. From drama to comedy, new work to classics, the One Act Play Festival offers something for everyone.
The Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre would like to invite you for a special Artist Talk and to view the work created by our February Artist-in-Residence, Rhys Douglas Farrell.
The event takes place at the Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre on Sunday, February 23rd. Doors will open at 2:00pm with light snacks and drinks provided by KOAC. His talk will take place at 2:30pm, and there will be time to view his work until the conclusion of the reception at 4:00pm.

Land’s End Ensemble and students of Mount Royal University’s Conservatory Program perform exciting works that push the boundaries of today’s performance practices and sonic experiences.
The Calgary Philharmonic has been a pillar of Calgary’s vibrant arts scene since 1955 and in that time has grown to be one of Canada’s most celebrated live music ensembles. Led by Music Director Rune Bergmann, the Orchestra presents a wide range of concerts, inspiring education programs, and reaches audiences worldwide through free and accessible digital programming. In addition to 66 full-time orchestra musicians, the Calgary Phil is one of two major symphony orchestras in Canada that has its own chorus of over 120 volunteer singers.
