About the event

Join us for a full day of writing and mind-body exercises that will help you to dissolve blocks and connect/reconnect with your deeper creative self. Artists, writers, and businesspeople alike will find benefits from refining vision, reawakening creative reserves, and refocusing energy.

This mind-body workshop will focus on how to establish a deeper purpose and reconnect with our full creative potential. We will practice yoga, qigong, breathwork, and writing/personal empowerment exercises that will imbue your life with creativity and flow.

Some yoga or meditation experience is a plus, but all levels are welcome. This will be a safe/brave place to explore and create. Participants are asked to bring a fresh journal and a pen or pencil. Ideally, no electronics are permitted.

Outline:

  • 10 a.m. Breakfast/creative booster
  • 11 a.m. Yoga/meditation 
  • 1 p.m. Lunch (on or offsite) & possible leadership talk
  • 2 p.m. Automatic writing exercise/discussion
  • 3 p.m. Writing exercise and opportunity to share

About:

Jen Knox is an award-winning author and the founder of Unleash Creatives, a holistic arts organization in the Midwestern U.S. Jen is a yoga instructor (200 YTT, 200 KYT), whose meditations and practices can be found on Insight Timer and Aura. She teaches yoga at Kula Yoga & Wellness and the Intuitive Touch Center. Jen has also taught creative writing for over a decade and hosts personal leadership classes at the Ohio State University. Her work has been widely published, and recent publications (co-authored with the amazing Ashley Holloway) include Create & Curate and How (Not) to Lead. jenknox

Ashley Holloway trained with David Swenson in Traditional Ashtanga yoga many decades ago and her practice has since evolved into Yang style yoga. Ashley balances her yoga practice with writing and teaching at Bow Valley College in healthcare leadership. She is a nurse by profession with a Masters degree in Public Health, a graduate diploma in Global Leadership, with further studies in International Development, Intercultural Communication, and Chinese medicine. Her writing has been featured in publications throughout Canada and the US and has co-authored two books with her writing partner extraordinaire, Jen Knox.
