BECOMING: a Visual Artist Online Resource

Date: Dec 1, 2022

BECOMING: a Visual Artist is a resource for all visual artists (Indigenous, newcomers to Canada, emerging + established) wanting to understand the art world in Alberta, particularly in Edmonton.

Hello!
Are you a visual artist?, Are there artists in your community that you would like to help? Do you want to learn more about how visual artists work and how to share creative work with others?

CARFAC Alberta has produced a resource that can help. BECOMING: A Visual Artist is designed to help you become familiar with the many practical aspects of establishing a visual arts practice in Alberta, particularly in Edmonton.

This document –  available in English and only online – gathers many voices and perspectives about how to develop and maintain an art career.

CARFAC Alberta supports ALL visual artists by providing information, resources and education about becoming – and being – an artist. We are here to help.

CARFAC Alberta has created BECOMING: A Visual Artist postcards to share with your community. We have postcards available in the following languages:  English, Chinese, Cree, Farsi, Tagalog and/or Ukrainian.

Please contact Sharon@carfaclberta.com if you or your organization would like to receive more information/or postcards about our BECOMING: A Visual Artist project.

BECOMING: A Visual Artist was funded through a project grant from the Edmonton Arts Council.
