Jane Berry brings a unique voice to the forefront of chamber music in Edmonton through her collaboration with UltraViolet.
New Music Edmonton presents UltraViolet, the prolific Edmonton-based ensemble who represents new Canadian classical repertoire on the national and international stages. Audiences are invited for an evening of previously unheard music at McDougall United Church on Saturday, November 23, as the group joins forces with renowned Edmonton composer, vocalist and painter, Jane Berry. This program, From Your Lips, explores the mysterious and multifarious effects of combining chamber music with voice.
Comprising of pianist Roger Admiral, cellist Amy Nicholson, flutist Chenoa Anderson, and saxophonist Allison Balcetis. UltraViolet is named in honour of composer Dr. Violet Archer, who encouraged her students to create their own opportunities for their music to be performed. Jane Berry is an integral member of the local choral community whose passion for arts collaboration is at the heart of her multi-faceted practice. New Music Edmonton is delighted to have commissioned a new work by Berry to be premiered alongside a brilliant selection of works by Canadian and international composers.
