Call for submissions, RISE Emerging Artist Program 2026

artsPlace invites submissions to the RISE Emerging Artist Program, a juried ~six-week exhibition paired with professional mentorship that builds skills in exhibition design, installation, marketing, and professional practice while fostering community awareness and advancing artists’ careers. Eligibility: emerging artists (≤5 years into practice) with specialized training (not necessarily academic) and a modest body of work; students, recent grads, and career-change artists welcome; Alberta residents (≥1 year); not represented by a commercial gallery; open to all visual disciplines for individuals or collectives; disabled artists welcomed with support available. The jury seeks cohesive, high-quality, creative and original work that offers an innovative/educational experience. Selected artists exhibit, sell, and promote their work and receive mentorship on preparation, curation, installation, artist talks, and promotion; artists handle install/de-install with staff guidance as needed.
