Join Artio, Mount Royal University Conservatory's Experimental Choir
We specialize in choral music that is distinct, demanding, diverse and innovative. We explore a variety of genres from early music through to innovative creations being crafted by today’s composers. We re-imagine and re-invent music of the past and embrace the avant-garde music of tomorrow while continually seek to push the boundaries of choral music and performance.
In May 2019, we will present Scorched
Scorched will explore what happens to humanity when water becomes a scarce resource. With our director Jean-Louis Bleau's unprecedented vision, and choreographer Mark Kunji Ikeda's imagination, we will combine high-level vocal production with movement, light dance, and staging, creating a captivating story for our audience.
Attend Our Open Rehearsals
We accept new members in September and January; open rehearsals are an opportunity for you to meet us, and to get a feel for the ensemble. The ensemble is not auditioned, but vocal placement interviews are available upon request.
Open rehearsals will be Tuesday September 4th and 11th, from 6PM-9PM in the Mount Royal University Nickle Theatre, located near the West Gate entrance/Security Office. We'll have time to chat, and singing will start sometime after 6:30.
For the most up-to-date information about our open rehearsals and the ensemble, check out our Facebook.
