Lana Michelin's first solo show is a stunning collection of landscapes and portraits that evoke our connection with nature.

In her acrylic paintings of people in nature, she explores how we change the view whenever we slip out into a landscape. Our presence shifts the balance, changes the perspective. The show runs Oct. 16 to Nov. 18, 2018.

"I paint people in landscapes because I have never thought of us as being separate from nature. We are part of the environment. Nature can reflect our mood. It can comfort or expose. It can exhilarate us or make us more aware of our alone-ness under the vast Prairie sky."

Passages runs Oct. 16 to Nov. 18 at the Kiwanis Gallery at the Red Deer Public Library. Join us for the opening reception from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2
