Online Event & Call for Submissions | Canada Celebrates Folklore

Date: Jun 7, 2021

Deadline: Jul 4, 2021 - 11:45 pm

The Canadian Centre of Mindful Habitats (CCMH), in partnership with The Great India Festival (TGIF), has launched an event titled "Canada Celebrates Folklore, 2021" as part of Canada’s Multiculturalism Day celebrations.

We have gathered Canadian storytellers who narrate folklore from different countries around the world. All video narrations of the stories have been uploaded to our website:
https://mindfulhabitats.ca/canada-celebrates-folklore/call-for-illustrations/

Accompanying the videos is a worldwide call for illustrations for these stories. All illustrations will be accepted from now, until July 4, 2021. There will then be a panel of judges to select the top illustrations received from the categories. The top illustrations and the stories will be compiled and are planned to be published as a hard copy and an e-book by Canadian Centre for Mindful Habitats. The selected artists will be attributed in the publication alongside their illustrations.

All individuals who are interested in participating for a chance to be featured in our publications are welcome to participate as there are two categories to enter:

  • 18 years of age and older, and
  • under 18 years of age.

Please share widely with your communities as the call for illustrations is open to all ages. The details of the call for illustrations can be found at: https://mindfulhabitats.ca/canada-celebrates-folklore/call-for-illustrations/.
