New Wave | Call for New Canadian Artists

Open to New Canadian Artists Working in Any Form of Visual Art

For the purposes of this exhibition, New Canadian artists are Immigrants that have been living in Canada for 7 years or less. To be considered for this exhibition, all artists must have their permanent residence in Alberta. The exhibition will feature the work of between 6 – 8 artists.

All artists accepted into this exhibition will receive a CARFAC exhibition fee (payment) for the use of their artwork.

Submission Guidelines

  • 4 – 8 good photographs or digital images of your artwork that you can send by mail or hand deliver.

Remember: the digital images or photographs should match the quality and character of the original artwork; do not send colour photocopies.

  • A description of what is on the photographs or digital pictures: including titles of art pieces, sizes of artwork, date work was created, what materials you use to create the art work.
  • An artist resume or short biography that answers the following questions is required:

°° How long have you been making art?
°° Have you had any exhibitions of your artwork?
°° Did you receive any education in art? If so please describe.
°° Have you achieved any degree of success as an artist?
°° What languages do you speak and understand?
°° Where you were born?
°° When did you arrive in Canada? When did you arrive in Alberta?
°° You must have a permanent residence in Alberta to participate.
°° Where do you currently live?

Submission Deadline: Friday March 15th, 2019 at 4 pm (by email or hand delivered).

  • If you are mailing your submission, make sure it reaches us by March 15th, 2019

Exhibition Dates: in Edmonton, from mid June 2019 — mid September 2019, to be exhibited in Edmonton at CARFAC Alberta Project Space (10215 112 Street, 3rd floor, Edmonton, AB T5K 1M7).

Successful applicants will be notified by Friday, April 19th, 2019.
