Joyce Doolittle 1928-2020
The Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA), along with the rest of the Canadian arts community, is mourning the loss of actor, author, publisher, director and all-around patron of the arts, Joyce Doolittle.
Doolittle, along with her composer husband Quenten, came to Calgary from the United States in 1960.
In 1971, she helped co-found the Pumphouse Theatre, located in a converted the old pumping station west of downtown Calgary.
Joyce Doolittle was featured in the AFA-funded documentary All the World's a Stage. The film, by Sandi Somers and Corey Lee, paid homage to revolutinary theatre artists Doolittle, Grant Reddick and John Murrell, who passed away in November 2019.
Our deepest sympathies to Joyce Doolittle's family and friends.
