The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA), a non-profit arts institution, is seeking an Education & Learning Administrator. Reporting to the Head of Education & Learning, this position is responsible for the daily administration of education and interpretative programs including program registration and bookings, scheduling, payments and refunds, collection of statistics and evaluation, and general correspondence

Selected Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing of invoices, cheque requisitions, purchase orders and written agreements; tracking and collection of overdue payments, re-scheduling and cancellation fees; tracking of education and interpretive programming related expenses
  • Working with education, interpretive and marketing teams to prepare documents, brochures, publications and handouts, as well as social media content.
  • Preparing, co-presenting and scheduling Education information sessions and outreach presentations.
  • Preparing and coordinating specific grant applications, funding requests and final reports in support of the education and public programming activities.
  • Fielding education & interpretive program inquiries and correspondence.
  • Conducting ongoing research on AGA exhibitions and collection, current trends in museum programming, best practices and ideas of relevance to the AGA

Qualifications:

  • A degree in education, museum studies, arts administration or other related field
  • Experience in customer service
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Filemaker and CRM is desirable
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Adaptable to fast-paced environments and ability to pivot
  • Team player
  • Bilingualism considered an asset

The Education & Learning Administrator is a 6 month term position. Compensation is $40,000 per year.
