Innovative Non-profit Leadership Opportunity

Date: Nov 9, 2022

Deadline: Nov 29, 2022 - 11:45 pm

Innovative Leadership Opportunity
iHuman Youth Society has an innovative solution to balancing operations and external relations.

The non-profit organization is currently celebrating their 25th year of supporting marginalized youth through their Arts based programs. Instead of the typical model of one person in charge of the entire organization, iHuman has two Executive Directors who jointly lead the organization – Executive Director Internal Operations and Executive Director of External Relations.  Both positions report directly to the Board of Directors.

iHuman is an Edmonton-based non-profit organization founded in 1997 by Wallis Kendal and Sandra Bromley who began collaborating with young people through their work on a major creative work—the Gun Sculpture. Over the course of the project, they connected with many young people as mentors and sought funding for the continuation of their efforts and for space to host and nurture the creativity and health of the young people they met.

To support this thriving organization, iHuman is recruiting for the Executive Director - External Relations position. Specifically this position fosters community and government relations, resource and fund development, and development and execution of a marketing and communications strategy and organizational strategic plan.

Because of the organization’s art focus, they are looking for an experienced  non-profit leader with an understanding of the arts community, understanding of indigenous relations, a strong history of fund development, strategic planning and execution skills, and a passion to help others.
