Harmony of the Spheres

Date: May 10, 2018

Since ancient times, man has watched the skies and wondered what it is like to be in the midst of them. Pythagoras hypothesized that each planet had its own resonance and hum, creating a celestial music he called “Harmony of the Spheres”.

On May 25th, Mount Royal Kantorei explores a variety of pieces based on this same inspiration of the stars and planets, and the music that dances through our universe. Amusing compositions like And Einstein Said and the ethereal Stars, orbit the central Sunrise Mass by Ola Gjeilo, making for a stellar concert.

The concert also presents apple pie by Calgary composer Dave Latos. apple pie is based on Carl Sagan’s quote - “If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.”

The concert will take place at 7:30 PM on Friday, May 25th at TELUS Spark Calgary (220 St. Georges Drive NE, Calgary).
Tickets are $20 (general) / $15 (students/seniors) / FREE (children 12 and under) and are available online through www.brownpapertickets.com or at the door.
