GuitarBorn Project Showcase

Date: Mar 12, 2019

Deadline: May 5, 2019 - 5:00 pm

GuitarBorn Project is a classic journey but with a musical twist. The true-telling of two friends with full plates, families and careers who believe "It's never too late to pick up where you left off..."  They are seeking greater fulfillment through creative growth by pushing the limits of their "conventional" life, and now they hope to encourage other people to do the same.

On May 5, GuitarBorn Project presents an incredible evening featuring a modern, guitar-based concert with various guest artists and instrumentation including flute, violin, marimba, double bass, vocals and vocal ensemble. This colourful and inspiring showcase represents the peak of a year-long journey for musician (Noel Amante) and artisan guitar-maker (Cliff Regino) who have re-discovered a deep joy for their craft and relayed this process from start to finish in a documentary titled, GuitarBorn Project. Those in attendance at the evening's performance will also be taking part in the world-premiere of this AFA supported documentary.

The event will take place at 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Bella Concert Hall, Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts, Mount Royal University (18 Mount Royal Circle SW, Calgary).

Tickets are $20 (general) & $15 (students/seniors) and are available online through MRU Ticket Office at tickets.mru.ca, by calling (403) 440-7770, or at the door.
