Dr. Van Christou Mentored Residency for Emerging Artists
2019: The Space Between - Searching for Spatial Relationship with Architect Philip Christou
This is a week-long mentorship program for emerging artists interested in art & architecture.
Whether you are looking to break from your normal practice or preparing to apply to university programs, this intensive workshop is focused on learning new ways of seeing – by examining the spaces between objects rather than the objects themselves. Create more balanced and considered compositions. Learn a new way of seeing and drawing in this condensed hands-on drawing workshop. Learn more by downloading the full package below.
Philip Christou will guide this intensive and is currently the Director of Florian Beigel Architects in London, England where he finds himself working on post-industrial rejuvenation projects as well as urban and building design projects in the UK, Europe and South Korea.
Workshop Intensive Dates: Tuesday, August 6 through Friday, August 9. 9:00 am to 4:00 pm is open studio time. Guided lectures and exercises from 4:15 pm to 9:45 pm. Dinner will be provided.
Cost & Application: This intensive is $90. Application forms are available below, at Casa or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Applicants are asked to submit 2-3 images to help determine skill level of the overall class and these images will not determine enrollment.
All materials will be supplied by Casa. Travel bursaries are available for those coming from out of town, based on need and distance.
