Cyanotypes: Blue Prints Under the Sun

​Cyanotypes are beautiful blue prints made with exposure to UV light. Pre-dating camera photography, this process is simple and accessible while holding great artistic potential. Students will be able to produce their first Cyanotype quickly and then move on to consider composition and creative ways to manipulate the exposures. The instructor will aid in the creation of prints and consult on creative goals.

Instructor Bio
Stacey Watson is an artist and educator based in Mohkinstis/Calgary.  She completed a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Calgary in 2004. This included an exchange at the Royal College of Art, London, UK. Since then she has exhibited locally and internationally as a printmaker, photographer and video artist. The influence of landscape on the imagination informs her work and she is an avid outdoors-woman. Her research into ways in which materials can lead creative play has linked her roles as artist, parent and educator. Narrative building runs throughout her artistic practice.
