Choir Alberta seeking Program Coordinator

Choir Alberta is currently seeking a part-time (25 hours per week) Program Coordinator.  Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning and delivery of Choir Alberta programs including the Alberta Youth Choir, Alberta Children’s Choirs, Music Conference Alberta, SongBurst and Choralfest.  Areas of work include:

  • Coordinating Choir Alberta’s Program Advisory Committee
  • Short and long-term program planning
  • Program delivery and logistics management
  • Recruiting, training, and managing of volunteers
  • Membership engagement
  • Coordinating Choir Alberta’s guest artists
  • Program marketing
  • Collaborating in the development of program budgeting
  • Keeping complete and accurate records for all Choir Alberta programs
  • Program assessment and evaluation

 
The successful applicant will have a passion for choral music and the arts and will be a strong team player with a positive attitude.  Other job requirements include:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (experience with QuickBooks and Adobe Creative Suite an asset)
  • Well-developed leadership skills
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and budget time appropriately
  • Advocating for Choir Alberta and its programs and services

 
In addition to working at the Choir Alberta’s Edmonton office, the successful candidate will work on site for the duration of all Choir Alberta programs, some of which take place on weekday evenings and weekends. As several Choir Alberta programs take place outside of the City of Edmonton, the successful candidate will require a valid driver’s license and will be expected to provide his/her own transportation.
 
The salary range for the position starts at $27,500 annually. The successful candidate will also receive a Health Spending Account, Technology Allowance, and paid vacation beginning at 3 weeks.
