ASA presents group show “Asian Roots Trio”

The Alberta Society of Artists is proud to present “Asian Roots Trio”, a group show featuring Yu Chen, Ken Richardson, Noah Richardson, running June 8 – August 20, 2022 at the ASA Gallery in Calgary, #222, 1235 – 26th Ave. SE. Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays 10am – 4pm, closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays.

Three artists of Asian heritage came together through their mutual interest in expressing Asian culture through Art. They each have their own unique backgrounds and experience and distinct story about their Asian heritage. “Our choice of mediums, including oil painting, drawing, and watercolour painting, form a diverse yet cohesive vision of traditional Asian aesthetics as we tell the story of our Asian Roots,” says the group.

This exhibition aims to display the beauty of Asian history, show pride in their Asian roots, and build cross-cultural understanding. Amid growing anti-Asian racism in Canada, it has never been more important to strengthen empathy and understanding within the community.
