(Calgary, AB) The Alberta Society of Artists invites all artists in Alberta (must be 18 years of age or older) to submit to the exhibition, “Paradox & Ambiguity”.
“This exhibition explores the instability of perception – where up becomes down, inside turns out, and meaning remains uncertain. Through paradox, inversion and ambiguity, the featured works challenge fixed viewpoints and invite new ways of seeing. By disrupting the familiar, these artists encourage us to question what we take for granted. In this shifting space, perception is not absolute, but fluid – open to contradiction, curiosity and surprise. Artists are invited to explore and interpret the many definitions of “paradox & ambiguity”.
All artists, both emerging and established, working in all media including installation, sculpture, video or photography, fibre, painting, drawing, and mixed media are encouraged to apply.
Deadline for Submissions: July 15, 2026
