We’re elated to share our next call-for-submissions for Spring 2025, Flower Power: Flora of Alberta! The exhibition will take place on May 3, 2025, at Burnt Toast Studio.
10 posters will be selected and curated by members of Burnt Toast Studio, in partnership with The Artist Lounge. All selected designs will have a limited print edition of 30, and the artist will be provided an honorarium, a printed poster and class discounts.
Submissions are NOW OPEN and will close March 29, 2025 at 11:59pm.
Make a difference to the arts in Western Canada!
Prairie Debut is seeking Albertan community members interested in the arts, with experience in the areas of fundraising, marketing, governance, and community development.
As a member of the Prairie Debut Board, you are expected to:
- prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings that are approximately two hours long
- attend the Annual General Meeting
- be an active member of at least one Board committee
- and serve for a two-year term, renewable up to three times

This exciting opportunity is open to visual artists who are in the early stages of their arts careers. Four to six apprenticeship opportunities will be awarded to emerging artists.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta.
The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Districts 5 and 6.

Bring your music to the Canadian Prairies! For over 20 years, Prairie Debut has helped some of Canada’s finest classical musicians build their careers through touring opportunities.
Both established and emerging artists are invited to apply.
Prairie Debut touring artists have the opportunity to:
-    travel to locations in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba
-    develop and present a full-length concert program
Created by the friends and family of the late artist Barbara Spohr, the Barbara Spohr Memorial Award for Photography encourages the development of Canadian contemporary photography by providing financial and creative assistance to a mid-career artist making a compelling contribution to the field.
This annual award supports one mid-career Canadian artist (Canadian citizen or permanent resident) working in photography to undertake a fully funded residency at the Banff Centre.
During this month-long self-directed residency, the award winner will have
