DEADLINE: November 26, 2025 - 2:00 am

What does it take to conserve a sculpture that has stood in Calgary for more than fifty years? Join us for a rare, behind-the-scenes look at how Katie Ohe’s beloved sculpture Day and Night was carefully restored and relocated from its original home in Prince’s Island Park to Devonian Gardens.

The evening begins with a short film created by Alexander Boyd, a member of the restoration team, and offers an insider’s view of the conservation process. It's an uncommon glimpse into the craft, care, and collaboration that goes into preserving public art.

Following the screening, take part in a Q&A with Sophia Zweifel, The City’s Public Art Conservator, and Alexander Boyd, who will share insights, stories, and reflections from the restoration.

To close the evening, enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition Fragment to Form | Katie Ohe and the Shape of Persistence, featuring additional works by the artist and a chance to experience Day and Night in its new home.
