Call for Submissions for the Lacombe Art Guild's Search of a New Logo Design

Exciting news!

The Lacombe Art Guild is in search of a new logo design!

Guidelines for submissions:

  • Location: Looking for artists from within Central Alberta or locally within the City of Lacombe
  • Entries: You can submit as many designs as you would like
  • Mediums: No limit for what medium(s) are used to create the design, so long as artists can submit it in a digital format
  • Ideals: this logo design should be themed around the Lacombe Art Guild, things in and around the area, and give homage to art of course! This could also incorporate things within Central Alberta, Alberta, and Canada.
  • Deadline: artist logo design submissions accepted from August 15th until September 30th, 2025.

  • Please include your full name, phone number, email, location, business/organization if applicable, and any social media handles where you post to.
  • Logo submissions will be presented at the Lacombe Art Guild Annual General Meeting, set for October 7th, 2025.
  • Winner to be announced following the AGM.

Community Mural Paint Day in Red Deer

Come enjoy an all-age free Community Paint Day on Saturday, August 30th, 2025 where participants can help fill in the background to the project's design, created by local artist Emma Guido. All materials are provided and a free BBQ is available for folks when they're done!

Where: 5031 50th Street, Red Deer (former site of the Buffalo Hotel)
When: Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 12 to 4 pm

This project is made in coordination by the Downtown Red Deer BIA, the Red Deer Arts Council, and Altruistic Current. 

A huge thank you to the @cityofreddeer 's Community Public Art Grant in making this possible.

Call for submissions: Art Show & Sale

The Town of Sylvan Lake is hosting its third Art Show & Sale, and is open for artist submissions! The Art Show & Sale features Albertan artists who specialize in painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, photography, sculpture and more. Taking place during Sylvan's 1913 Days festival (which draws in tens of thousands of visitors to the town), it's an opportunity for artists to show their work to new audiences, make connections and sell their art.
