Edmonton International Film Festival presents 2026 Oscar® Nominated Short Films

The Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF)'s annual Oscar® Nominated Short Films Fundraiser returns to Edmonton's Metro Cinema (8712 109 Street) for three nights only: March 8th, 11th, and 13th, 2026. This is a unique  local opportunity to view all of the nominated short animationdocumentary, and live-action films ahead of the 98th Academy Awards airing Sunday, March 15.

It has come to our attention that, following the 2024 fires, many Jasper residents are still not in their permanent homes. Some are not even living in Jasper and are feeling increasingly isolated. Why does this matter to us? Because we are an art space dedicated to experience, engagement, and creative exploration—and few things help sustain a sense of community like the arts.

Adventure Filmmakers Workshop 2026

The Adventure Filmmakers Workshop is an exceptional chance for independent and emerging filmmakers to advance their skills under the guidance of two of the world’s premier and proven adventure filmmakers. During a jam-packed ten days in the fall, participants will hone their craft, strengthen their skills, and network and mingle with fellow filmmakers, industry insiders, and decision-makers. 

Moonlighter Film Camp - Field Skills - Women's Outdoor Filmmaking Intensives

Moonlighter Film Camps, led by professionals in the outdoor film industry, offer a safe learning environment for women and are designed to enhance technical filmmaking skills.

The Field Skills camp will focus on building your

  • narrative
  • camera work
  • sound capture
  • interviews
  • lighting and other technical filmmaking skills.  

These four-day workshops are open to creatives identifying as women who want to deepen their understanding of crafting content about and within outdoor environments.
