Join us at the AFA art house at 7 pm on Thursday, September 24 for a fireside chat with Brandon Atkinson as we celebrate Month of the Artist.
Atkinson has two pieces in the flagship exhibition New Views. Learn more about Change of Life (2015) in our Work of the Week post.
This event will be moderated by Calgary writer, community organizer, educator, and art impresario Cecilia Alcaraz.
About the Artist
Brandon is a Métis artist from Edmonton where he has lived for most of his life. He first started to draw when he was 8 years old and credits his grandparents with encouraging him to pursue his craft as an artist. His drawings focus on animals and the environments in which they live. While his drawings are unique creations, based on what he feels and sees with his 'inner eye,' his work demonstrates similarities with aspects of the Woodland school of art.
