Job Opportunities - Theatre Prospero youth summer ensemble

Theatre Prospero is recruiting a Canada Summer Jobs youth ensemble to develop
and tour interactive TYA productions in Edmonton this summer. Positions
include:
- Performers (see our audition notice for May 2, 2026)
- Assistant Director
- Stage Manager
- Playwright/Dramaturg
- Design assistant/Builder
Together this summer company will develop, rehearse, and perform new mythic
work suitable for all ages, including Amanda Samuelson’s highly interactive
THE DOOMED PRINCE, and other mythic material to be created by the in-house
playwright and workshopped with the ensemble this summer, likely including a
highly interactive piece centered on the Hindu epic poem Ramayana. THE DOOMED
PRINCE and the newly developed pieces will be performed at festivals and
parks around Edmonton this summer.

All positions are funded in part through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. To
be eligible, applicants must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee
protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection
Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be
legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial
legislation and regulations
