Layering ideas of geologic time with histories of mapping, Anna Binta Diallo’s recent bodies of work engage her digital collage practice in poetic reflections on the ways we navigate land, water, and sky. Those mountains of shadows and valleys of light is a meditation on the multitude of strategies we have used over millennia to map and chart paths across the earth, inspired by a collection of discarded paper maps.

After the packed Winspear Centre EJO Meets ESO marquee event from last year's Festival, Edmonton Jazz Orchestra returns to Edmonton's world-renowned concert hall in partnership with members of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra Strings for a swinging afternoon of famous Broadway tunes. Experience music from West Side Story, Sound Of Music, Porgy and Bess, Oliver!, The Jungle Book, My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins, Frozen, Wicked, Aladdin, Beauty And The Beast, The little Mermaid.

Orcas can be found throughout all oceans in the world, but their behavior changes based on where they live. Much like diverse human cultures, each orca population has a unique way of feeding, diet, and migration.  

Join us for an evening with researcher Joshua McInnes from The UBC Marine Mammal Research Institute to learn about the feeding behaviors, diet, and ecology of Transient (Biggs) Orcas and Risso‘s Dolphins often found off the coast of B.C.
