Make a difference to the arts in Western Canada!

Prairie Debut is seeking Albertan community members interested in the arts, with experience in the areas of fundraising, marketing, governance, and community development.

As a member of the Prairie Debut Board, you are expected to:
- prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings that are approximately two hours long
- attend the Annual General Meeting
- be an active member of at least one Board committee
- and serve for a two-year term, renewable up to three times

Professionals by day, soloists by night.

In collaboration with Les Amateurs Virtuoses and the Calgary Civic Symphony, this event brings together some of the most extraordinary amateur pianists for a concert like no other.

Bring your music to the Canadian Prairies! For over 20 years, Prairie Debut has helped some of Canada’s finest classical musicians build their careers through touring opportunities.
Both established and emerging artists are invited to apply.
Prairie Debut touring artists have the opportunity to:
-    travel to locations in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba
-    develop and present a full-length concert program

For years, Dripping Creativity Podcast has explored the raw, unfiltered stories of artists, musicians, and creatives from around the world—150 interviews deep. Now, it’s time to turn the focus home, highlighting the heart of Calgary’s indie scene with a night of real talk, honest moments, and intimate performances.

The Experience

One of the world’s leading concert pianists, Angela Hewitt appears globally in recital and as soloist with major orchestras. A native of Ottawa, she also performs throughout Canada and has won four Junos along with numerous other awards. This recital marks Ms. Hewitt’s 50th anniversary in performing the Goldberg Variations and she will be performing on a Fazioli piano being brought in especially for the recital.

Join the National accessArts Centre for a special performance and presentation about our Sound Intensive – a two-week residency at cSPACE where NaAC artists worked with visiting composer Dani Saldo to explore songwriting, foley, and composition for film. The artists will share about their process and offer a sneak peek into our upcoming film Cosmos Report (2025).
