Communiqué from the Canadian Public Arts Funders (CPAF)

Joan Udell, AFA Board Chair, Jeffrey Anderson, Executive Director, and Helen Chimirri-Russell, Director Arts Development, joined representatives of arts councils and public arts funders from across Canada in Yellowknife during November 11-13 to attend the 11th Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Public Arts Funders (CPAF).

CPAF members welcomed the public release of the mandate letter from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to new Minister of Canadian Heritage Mélanie Joly on November 13th. The letter outlines the federal government’s priorities to provide significant new support to Canadian arts and culture. Click here to read the mandate letter.

During the meeting, the CPAF members acknowledged the 30th anniversary of the Northwest Territories Arts Council, and its history of supporting the territory’s outstanding artists.
